Kim

"Kim" er en samling breve og dagbogsnotater skrevet af den danske modstandsmand Kim Malthe-Bruun i tiden under besættelsen. Det er en gribende beretning om en ung mand, der led en tragisk skæbne og som endte med at ofre livet i sin kamp for en bedre verden. Kim blev arresteret af Gestapo på Østerbro under en illegal våbentransport i 1944 og blev indsat i Vestre Fængsel. Mens han sad fængslet skrev han breve til sine forældre og sin forlovede, Hanne. Med ordene: "Jeg har vandret ad en vej, som jeg ikke har fortrudt, jeg har aldrig svigtet, hvad der i mit hjerte stod (...) Tiden er kort, jeg kan ikke rigtig forklare det, men mit sind er fuldkommen roligt" tog han afsked med sine elskede. Den 6. april 1945 blev Kim ført tilbage til København, hvor han blev henrettet af nazisterne. Hans jordiske rester blev fundet efter befrielsen, og han blev efterfølgende begravet i Mindelunden i Ryvangen. Som 17-årig fik han hyre på et skib der sejlede til Finland under Vinterkrigen og herfra nedfældede han i breve og dagbøger sine oplevelser af en verden i opløsning. I 1944 besluttede han at tage tilbage til Danmark for at deltage aktivt i modstandskampen mod den tyske besættelsesmagt. Samme år blev han arresteret og dømt til døden af Gestapo. Han blev henrettet af nazisterne kort inden befrielsen og ligger i dag begravet i Mindelunden.
