Abby Millsaps So Right

It wasn't supposed to be like this. Spence swore he had a plan. He assured us he had everything under control. He promised we could trust him. What he forgot to mention? His so-called plan was actually an emotional bombshell with enough force behind it to destroy us all. Technically, his plan worked-my mother and stepfather have ended their campaign to convince me to be a living organ donor. But the emotional damage and mental load of his big announcement has created a ripple effect throughout our cohort. Greedy is haunted and despondent. Levi is initially shocked, then filled with shame. Sione is simply annoyed, because he knows this is all a ruse. Spence is stoic but more determined than ever to ensure our safety. As for me? I feel it all. Every sorrowful reaction and warranted frustration thrums through my veins. But there's something else there, too: A sense of longing. A deep-seated desire I've never allowed myself to admit. After running the gamut of emotions, I finally land on a surprising truth: I want a baby. For real. Right now. With all of them. This is it. I'm ready to claim the happily ever after I deserve with all four of my men by my side. I just have to convince them to go along with my plan and hope like hell that my mother leaves us alone once and for all.
