The Day I Found Him

Gavin has spent years trying to make a life for himself, always trying to stay out from under his father's thumb, the father who thinks he's broken and would do whatever it took to fix him, no matter how badly it hurt him. It was hard to escape his past, when it came back to torment him nearly every time he closed his eyes. When the life he built for himself comes crashing down in one night, he runs to the only person he thinks might help him, the boy he lost long ago. Instead, he finds someone unexpected there, someone who feels safe for the first time in a long time. Nick's nights are haunted by memories of an emotionally abusive, cheating ex who filled him with self-doubt and made it nearly impossible to trust anyone. The only upside to being moved across the country was finally finding a job he adored, one in which he felt he was actually helping people while putting his culinary degree to good use. Working at the youth shelter gave him the joy his ex tried to take away. When Nick finds someone who needs help, who needs more than anything to just be seen, it will change both of their lives forever. When Gavin's past catches up to him, Nick will do anything to protect him from the people who want to take him away, to change him.
