The Bunker Diaries

The Bunker Diary is Stewart Meyer's account of life in the orbit of William S. Burroughs. He recounts a period of his life in the late 1970s and early 1980s when he hung out at Burroughs' Bunker in NYC, learning to write at the side of one of the 20th century's greats. Meyer passes along Burroughs' advice on writing and on life. He also details the amusing interactions Burroughs had with the likes of Allen Ginsberg and Jacques Stern. We also see up close the antics of Herbert Huncke and Gregory Corso. The Bunker Diaries spills out of the Bunker and onto the streets of NYC, where Meyer is copping for heroin and opium, slinging bags of weed, and all the while trying to run his own typesetting business in a rapidly changing industry.
