CUT er historien om de mennesker og begivenheder, der skabte dansk films anden guldalder, der startede med Vinterbergs "Festen" og Lars von Triers "Idioterne" i 1998. Det er fortællingen om filmbranchen i dag, hierarkier og stjernenykker, store personligheder, små budgetter og ven- og fjendskaber. Det er ydermere en perlerække af hidtil ufortalte anekdoter om Danmarks mest markante manuskriptforfattere, instruktører, skuespillere, producenter, fotografer, klippere, komponister - og mange andre af faggrupperne i filmindustrien.

Her story unfolds primarily through dramatic monologues, gradually revealing the family turmoil that led to her self-destructive behaviour.
