Cosmos er en uimodståelig roman om en ung mand, der samler flasker og forsøger at finde en mening med at være på afveje. Lucia Odoom har skrevet en moderne brevroman og en skæbnefortælling om global ulighed, venskab og forelskelse. Cosmos er kommet til Europa fra Ghana som bådflygtning. Nu arbejder han som flaskesamler i København for at skrabe penge sammen til et hus til sin elskede lillesøster. Over WhatsApp skriver han hjem til sin familie i Ghana: tante Dora, pastor Emanuel og søsteren Effie.I sine beskeder fortæller Cosmos om Kragerne, den lille gruppe af afrikanske migranter, han er blevet en del af: tvillingerne Femi og Kofi, der uploader dansevideoer på TikTok og drømmer om et gennembrud, og den lidt ældre Odofu, der deler ud af sin viden om alt fra dresscodes til danskernes uskrevne regler.Cosmos skriver om at sove under åben himmel i byens parker og mærke kulden komme snigende, sammen med tvivlen om sin plads i verden. Og han fortæller om Elizabeth, som han møder i en af byens afrikanske hårsaloner. Hun åbner en ny verden for Cosmos, og han kaster sig tøvende ud i forelskelsen.

LUCIA ODOOM er kulturjournalist og forfatter. Hun er fast skribent på Dagbladet Politiken og vært på Poptillægget, avisens ugentlige podcast om popkultur. I 2020 modtog hun Edvard-prisen, og samme år blev hun kåret til Årets radiopersonlighed for at gå forrest i kampen mod racisme. Lucias morfar emigrerede fra Ghana til Danmark i 1960’erne. Cosmos er hendes debutroman.
