The Philosophical Pleiades was written by an unidentified author in the first half on the 18th Century. Its subtitle associates it with the Rosicrucians. It presents the alchemical work as a series of seven stages, each associated with one of the stars of the Pleiades. These seven stars or processes are named as:- The Great Tincture by the Dry Path - The Philosophical Neptune -The Philosophical Carbuncle - The Philosophical Tincture through pure Gold - The Star of the White and Red Eagle - The secret of the greater mineral of the world - The Purple Blood of Venus.
