Gichin Funakoshi is a legendary figure and the founder of Shotokan karate, the most popular style of Japanese karate, with millions of practitioners worldwide. In the afterword, the founder's great-nephew, Gisho Funakoshi, shares previously unknown personal anecdotes about his Uncle Funakoshi.
