Exploring the Exceptional Wines Chosen for the 2020 Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Auction The 2020 Nedbank CWG Auction, organized by Bonhams London, is set to take place online on Saturday, October 3rd. In light of the Coronavirus pandemic, public tastings were not held before the auction, making the limited tastings by selected wine journalists particularly important this year. This auction will showcase 28 wines, offering a total of 564 cases (6 x 750ml), a decrease from the 45 wines and 1,932 cases available in 2019. Participants have the opportunity to bid on smaller lots, with proceeds from the first case of each wine directed to aid Samantha O’Keefe, whose Lismore estate suffered severe fire damage. Furthermore, a special 50-item Vinotheque Auction will present a selection of older wines donated by members to support employees impacted by the Coronavirus crisis. Only 290 bottles of this exclusive wine are produced.
