Michelle Frohman When Storms Awaken

Secrets. Magic. Betrayal. Diana Barnes has simple goals for senior year: keep her head down, graduate, and make it out alive. But strange things are happening around Silver Oaks. Between the giant wolf with human-like eyes stalking her and the unexplainable powers that randomly appear-lying low proves difficult. The only one who seems to have the answers is Nik, the new transfer in school. Though he's handsome beyond belief, his arrogant attitude leaves much to be desired. Unfortunately, they'll have to work together if she has any hope of taming her newfound abilities. When Diana finds out she is a Stormshade, a rare type of witch with elemental powers, her world will be changed forever. But seeking the truth may spark a decades-old war already on the brink of reignition. In this world of magic and intrigue, secrets linger around every corner. Loyalties will be tested, and Diana will have to decide who she can trust. Only-the wrong choice could cost Diana her life. I was a Stormshade, and I was powerful.
