Jackson Katz Every Man

A paradigm-shifting book about men's violence against women, how it affects us all, and what men especially can do to stop it. Pervasive misogyny-magnified by "manosphere" figures like Andrew Tate and his many imitators-is not a fringe problem but rather a cultural crisis that crosses all lines of ethnicity, race, and socioeconomics and does enormous damage to women, girls, and men themselves. It creates an onramp to online radicalization for young men and contributes to the growing problem of violence against women in public life. The debate surrounding the release of the Epstein files and public cases, such as that of convicted rapist Dominique Pelicot, have reignited calls for accountability around the widespread sexual exploitation and abuse of women and girls. Jackson Katz offers a refreshingly candid diagnosis of this problem and outlines a series of actionable steps for men, women and everyone. These include concrete measures that "bystanders" can take to interrupt misogynistic abuse, as well as practical suggestions for men in positions of cultural influence and community, institutional, and political leadership. Every Man is a call for men to be proactive leaders, to dismantle the attitudes and systems that enable gender violence, and to help build a society in which gender equity and safety are seen as both a shared responsibility and a national priority.
