Lucy Bain Exit The Dream: How to Conquer Depersonalization and Derealization and Thrive

Are you tired of stepping outside, dissociating and the world seeming unreal? Of spiralling into panic attack after panic attack, and of spending every waking minute of your life desperately trying to find a quick cure? I have good news for you. If you read this book with an open mind and implement the unique psychological techniques it comprises, you will rapidly recover from depersonalization and derealization (DPDR) and feel normal again, effortlessly and permanently. That is a guarantee, because these techniques catalyse profound, lasting neural reconfigurations and work infallibly. As a neuroscientist who has successfully completely overcome chronic DPDR, I am driven to teach every last sufferer a). what this 'disorder' really is and b). how to cure it in a matter of days/weeks and ensure that they never relapse. Regardless of how dissociated and lost you currently feel, you are as real, safe and alive as you were when you were a curious child. You will naturally feel that there is something very wrong with you, but this is a mere illusion that your brain is conjuring up - a mere symptom of the obsessional thinking, heightened anxiety and hypochondria that collectively cause DPDR in the first place. These are your real issues, and we are going to tackle them at their roots. In this book, you will learn all about: - The evolutionary basis of dissociation - Why certain people experience it and others never do - Why some people DO trigger dissociation once or twice, but let it go and never slip into chronic DPDR - What differentiates YOU from these people, and how you can remedy this disparity and think more like they do - Why you do not have schizophrenia or a brain tumour - How to stop letting collateral effects of the dissociative experience scare you (e.g. perceptual changes, clumsiness) - How to rewire your conscious brain (ft. the prefrontal cortex) during the day, by paying your intrusive thoughts neutral attention and/or effectively countering them - How to speak to and rewire your subconscious brain (ft. subcortical regions like the amygdala) when it is most receptive and producing Alpha oscillatory activity - The secret benefits to being genetically prone to this type of anxiety/obsessionality - How to redirect your inherently obsessional nature towards incredibly fruitful pursuits, rather than suppressing it - The lesson to take away: how curing yourself of DPDR will set you up to achieve whatever you want in life. THE UPSHOT: There is nothing intractable about dissociative anxiety; when you are ready to launch yourself towards recovery, counter the illusion and think in ways that you never have before, it disappears - it simply can no longer be sustained when you are truly committed to living and thriving in the real world. Latest Edition (August 2021): fully edited, now 140 pages long. Includes an additional chapter comprising the specific subconscious mind reprogramming techniques that will permanently transform your belief systems, thoughts and emotional reactions, aligning you with a new version of yourself that is immune to DPDR and naturally feels 'real' and safe... all the time.
