Steven Walker Fidel Castro

Unlike many biographies, his own autobiography and other books, this story navigates the uncharted territory of the early childhood influences, tragedies, and traumas that helped shape the personality and formative psychological development of one of the 20th Centuries iconic political figures. Using first hand accounts, multiple sources, and a diverse range of perspectives this book draws a complex picture than the superficial, stereotypical portrayals of Fidel Castro as a Marxist revolutionary. The book takes you into the hidden recesses of his mind, motivations and the impact significant people had on shaping his political perspective. In particular the impact growing up with the stigma of illegitimacy, complex family dynamics, and a father with a temper who ruled the household with an iron fist.
