Paul Tyson Your Body Is Holy

The Christian understanding of sex is defined by categories of right worship, the iconic and sacred meaning of the sexed human body, and the marriage of Christ to the church. Centrally, the love of God as the first reality of our lives (right worship) defines the love of one's neighbor as oneself (sexual ethics). This Christian understanding has unique signatures that many young people today, even in our churches, have no inkling of. This book unpacks and explains the distinctive ways in which sex is understood by Jesus and the apostles and how this distinctive understanding shapes Christian sexual commitments and behaviors. For real human flourishing in sexual relationships comes only through the blessing of God. Once the core spiritual truths of a biblical outlook on human sexuality are clear, the book then seeks to understand pornography, feminism, queer gender-identity, trans-sexualism, and homosexuality, in a Christian light. In a time of great confusion about sex, great damage from sexual relationships, and a culture that habituates us in self-focused individualism, there is great need for the liberating gospel way in this domain. If you are a Christian and confused about the meaning of sex, then this book is for you.
