Jessica Rensch A Different Kind of Edge : Transitioning from Skater to Coach: A Guide to Figure Skating Foundations

During those early days of coaching, I searched everywhere for a book that carefully explained the techniques behind skating. It was hard for me to remember the basics. I wanted to be more specific about where a skater should press on the blade, how to teach jump rotation, increase speed, etc. This is the book I wanted but couldn't find when I started my coaching career. This book is a resource for the skater who wants to transition from being an athlete to being a coach. I hope it can inspire skaters to not only build a strong baseline, but help them create their own ideas about coaching. The most amazing thing I found during my coaching journey is how everything in figure skating connects and builds on itself. About the Author Jessica Rensch grew up skating in Florida and Colorado.
