Kristin Williams The France Nudist Traveler's Guide: The Best Places To Go In France Where You Can Be Completely Naked

When people think of France, they picture romantic cobblestone streets, decadent pastries, and the Eiffel Tower sparkling in the night. But for those of us who embrace the nudist lifestyle, France offers something even better: the ultimate destination for living life bare. This country isn't just about wine and cheese (though there's plenty of that, too); it's a nudist's paradise, where beaches, villages, resorts, and even city streets invite you to shed your clothes and experience freedom in its purest form. I still remember my first trip to a French naturist beach. I'd done my research, packed my towel and sunscreen, and nervously made my way to Plage de Tahiti in Saint-Tropez. As I walked onto the warm sand, I was greeted by the sight of sunbathers lounging carefree and beach volleyball games in full swing-all without a single piece of clothing in sight. Within minutes, I'd ditched my swimsuit, stretched out under the Mediterranean sun, and thought, This is what France was made for. France has long been at the forefront of naturism. With its rich history, progressive attitude toward nudity, and diverse landscapes, it's no wonder the country attracts nudists from all over the world. From the glamorous beaches of the French Riviera to the serene naturist villages tucked into the countryside, there's a little something for every bare adventurer. And let's not forget the hot springs, festivals, and wellness retreats that make this country a year-round destination for those who love to live without clothes. In this guide, we'll explore the best nude-friendly spots France has to offer. Whether you're a seasoned naturist or dipping your toes into nudity for the first time, you'll find tips, recommendations, and stories to help you make the most of your trip. Along the way, I'll share some of my own (sometimes hilarious) experiences-like the time I accidentally wandered into a fully clothed section of Cap d'Agde and had to make a very awkward retreat. So grab your sunscreen, pack a towel (or two), and get ready to discover the freedom, beauty, and joie de vivre that come with traveling nude in France. From the coastlines to the countryside, this country is ready to welcome you with open arms-and absolutely no judgment. Let's dive in, shall we? Or, as the French say, On y va!
