Martin Colclough Simply Mediumship

Simply Mediumship - A Tutor's Guide Teaching with Care, Clarity, and Responsibility Teaching mediumship is not the same as practising it. This book is written for those who teach, or are preparing to teach, mediumship and related spiritual disciplines, and who recognise that responsibility comes with that role. Rather than offering exercises, techniques, or methods to copy, Simply Mediumship - A Tutor's Guide explores how mediumship should be taught ethically, thoughtfully, and without causing unintended harm. It challenges common assumptions about confidence, ability, assessment, and authority, and invites tutors to reflect on how their language, expectations, and behaviour shape student development. Drawing on decades of experience as a tutor, assessor, and trainer, the author examines the difference between experience and learning, performance and belief, guidance and control. Particular attention is given to individual difference, the quiet influence tutors hold, and the importance of holding space rather than defining experience. This book is not about producing outcomes. It is about protecting belief. It is not about authority. It is about responsibility. Written in a clear, grounded style, this guide is suitable for tutors working in mediumship, trance, healing, inspirational speaking, and spiritual philosophy, as well as those involved in training, mentoring, or assessment. This is not a rulebook. It is a thinking book - for tutors who care about how they teach, not just what they teach.
