D.C. Hobson og D. C. Hobson A Little Traveller's Guide To London

Before you start an adventure, you have to arrive. In A Little Traveller's Guide to London, young readers are invited to spend a gentle day exploring one of the world's most fascinating cities, guided by curiosity, friendship, and a willingness to wander. Lola and her travelling companion Flo arrive in London by boat, sailing along the River Thames and tying up their bright red sailboat near one of the city's most famous bridges. From there, they set off on foot to see where the day might take them. They greet the city with a cosy breakfast, wander through busy streets and colourful markets, and discover that London is full of both grand sights and quiet moments. They ride on a big red bus, explore an ancient castle, and learn that even the busiest cities have places where you can slow down, sit, and watch the world go by. Along the way, Lola and Flo meet friendly locals, visit a magnificent cathedral, pretend to be pirates on an old ship, and walk beside the river as the city unfolds around them. They watch soldiers on horseback who never seem to move, rest beneath a tree in a sunny park, and discover enormous creatures from long ago inside a museum filled with wonders. As the day begins to fade, they enjoy a very London dinner wrapped in paper, before making their way back along the river to their little red sailboat. With the city growing quiet around them, they settle in for the night, ready for wherever the next adventure might lead. This book is not a checklist of landmarks. Instead, it shows children how it feels to be somewhere new - how to walk, notice, wonder, and take your time. Big cities can be exciting, but they are also places to rest, to explore at your own pace, and to enjoy the small moments in between. Written in simple, rhythmic language with gentle humour, A Little Traveller's Guide to London is designed for reading aloud and for young readers who enjoy calm, thoughtful stories. The illustrations and storytelling work together to create a warm sense of place, helping children imagine themselves exploring the city alongside Lola and Flo. This book is ideal for: Children aged 4-8 Families who love travel and storytelling Read-aloud bedtime reading Young readers curious about the world Part of the Travel For Little People series, A Little Traveller's Guide to London can be enjoyed on its own or alongside other titles in the collection - each one reminding readers that travel is about curiosity, kindness, and noticing the world around you.
