Thaer M. Barakat THE AI TRANSFORMATION

Most AI transformations fail. Not because the technology does not work. Because organisations treat AI as a technology project when it is fundamentally an operating model transformation - and because leadership teams expect the organisation to change while remaining unchanged themselves. The AI Transformation is a practitioner's guide for executives who are leading or sponsoring AI transformation programmes. It covers the full arc of transformation leadership: from the decision to begin, through governance, programme structure, people, measurement, and failure recovery, to the disciplines that sustain transformation after the programme closes. Written by a practitioner with more than twenty years of experience inside large and complex organisations, this book does not offer abstract frameworks or vendor-sponsored optimism. It offers the honest account of what AI transformation actually demands - of the programme, of the organisation, and of the executive leading it. What this book covers: Why AI transformations fail and how to recognise the warning signs early The three levels of AI change - and how to know which one your organisation is genuinely ready for The leadership shifts that transformation requires and that most executives underestimate How to build a governance model designed for the actual conditions of AI deployment How to structure a programme that delivers sustained value rather than impressive activity The people question - and why it must be answered before the technology is selected How to measure what matters rather than what is easy to count What to do when the programme encounters serious difficulty How to sustain transformation after the formal programme ends This is the third book in The AI Leadership Trilogy. Book 1 - Your AI Team - covers deploying AI agents inside your organisation. Book 2 - The AI-Powered Business - covers running a company whose operations are built around AI. Book 3 - this book - addresses the transformation that makes both possible. Each book can be read independently. Together, they form a complete account of what it takes to bring AI from concept to operating reality.
