Sandra J. Paul The Shadow You Cast

From the bestselling author of Dead Girls Don't Talk , The Last Days of Holly Hayes and Whispers of the Forgotten comes a new psychological flipover thriller about obsession and fear. Amanda's side (the stalker): Obsession always leaves a mark. Amanda Jackson has learned how to stay invisible. Being unseen feels like survival, especially after a past she has carefully buried, shaped by anonymous cruelty and damage she never had to witness firsthand. She knows better than anyone how fine the line is between obsession and care. And yet. On her morning commute she notices Isabel: vulnerable and distracted, and softly talking to no one. Amanda's attention locks onto her. When their paths cross again and again throughout the day, Amanda is certain: this is happening for a reason. She becomes increasingly convinced that she is the only one who truly understands what Isabel needs and she will help her. Whatever it costs. Isabel's side (the victim): The dead don't stalk. The living do. Since the death of her fraternal twin sister, silence has become unbearable for Isabel DeWitt. She fills it by speaking aloud to the sister she lost. Cassie won't let her go, but her presence is strongest in the rooms Isabel still doesn't dare to enter. Isabel calls it grief. She knows there is more to it than that. On the anniversary of Cassie's death, Isabel is determined to move forward. But the past does not bury itself quietly, and the lies she has told herself and others, grow heavier with every day that passes. Isabel has always believed that her dead sister was haunting her for a reason. It never once occurs to her that the living might do the same.
