Omar Suleiman When Life Hits Hard

When life hits you hard, when all doors are closed and when everything seems hopeless, the only light in the tunnel is from Allah (s.w.t.). Even the Prophet (s.a.w.) was not free from sadness and trials, so turn to Allah (s.w.t.) in reliance and supplicate with reverence: O' Allah! I seek refuge with You from worry and grief... (Ṣaḥiḥ al-Bukhari 6369) We, humans, have emotions. More often than not, we worry over the unknown in the future and grieve over what happened in the past. However, these emotions and the trials we face do not imply Allah (s.w.t.) is not pleased with us. In this book, Dr. Omar Suleiman unmasks the lessons of happiness and sadness in the Qurʾan. By delving into these lessons, he equips us with the readiness to face hardships-big or small-and helps us to recognise the true happiness that we should strive for.
