Jane Austen og Austen Sense and Sensibility

When the Dashwood sisters’ father dies unexpectedly, they are cast from their comfortable home and forced to begin again in a modest Devonshire cottage. There, reserved and sensible Elinor and impulsive, romantic Marianne discover the joys and heartbreaks of love, navigating society’s expectations and the limits placed upon women of their time. Threaded with Austen’s signature wit, warmth, and keen insight into family and class, ‘Sense and Sensibility’ remains one of the most cherished tales of duty versus desire - a timeless story brought to life on screen by Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, Hugh Grant, and Alan Rickman in the award‑winning 1995 film. Jane Austen (1775–1817) is one of the most beloved authors in English literature. Renowned for her sharp wit, social insight, and unforgettable heroines, she has captivated readers for over two centuries. Her best‑loved works - 'Pride and Prejudice', 'Sense and Sensibility', 'Emma', and 'Persuasion' - continue to inspire countless adaptations for screen, stage, and radio.
