Magnus Kjøller Why Investors Say No

You didn’t get a no because your idea was bad. You probably got a no because of something you could have fixed. After reviewing more than 20,000 investment pitches over two decades - and saying yes to fewer than 80 - Magnus Kjøller has seen the mistakes that kill deals, often before founders know what went wrong. Why Investors Say No is written from the other side of the table. In 200 pages of practical insight, you’ll learn why investors pass - unclear investment cases, unrealistic valuations, messy financials, poor deal structures, and founder behaviours that destroy confidence. Each chapter identifies a mistake, explains why it triggers rejection, and shows how to fix it before it costs you the deal. This isn’t theory or motivation - It’s what actually happens when investors decide whether to move forward or move on. As a former entrepreneur turned investor, Kjøller understands both what it takes to build something and what it takes to earn an investor’s trust. That perspective makes this book different from typical fundraising guides. If you have a meeting coming up, a pitch to refine, or a “no” you’re still trying to understand - this book will tell you the truth.
