Norse Goddess Power - Hanna Snorradóttir - English Book - Nordisk Visdomsportal

In the beginning was the Great Mother ... In ’Norse Goddess Power’, the Norse goddesses are resurrected through beautiful, life-affirming and sensual retellings of myths from ancient times, when the Norse region transitioned from Vanir belief to Aesir belief. The Vanir belief allowed the equality of the sexes and their coexistence with nature to create a melody, the roaring notes of which you are invited to hear. Icelandic Hanna Snorradóttir tells vividly with depth, passion and a twinkle in her eye about the Norse goddesses’ roots in nature’s annual cycle, spiced with her colourful journeys into the Norse wisdom tradition in Iceland, Denmark and Germany. The myths are alive! The retellings are based on both the written sources and the author’s intuitive interpretation of the myths. The stories shed new light on our understanding of our own lives and the life of society – also in a modern context. You are invited to savour the nourishing ‘myth concoction’ from the Norse universe, brewed to attain power, wisdom and insight. "This book is a guide to this world, an introduction to a forgotten language." Lars Muhl, author, mystic and musician
