Alberto Casas La Ilusión del Tiempo / The Illusion of Time

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION This quantum physics researcher and communicator takes us inside the most fascinating mystery in science. What is time? Few subjects have enthralled more scientists, philosophers, and even artists throughout history. Centuries later, physics doesn't have a definite answer to this question. In fact, this debate is raging more than ever. However, physics today has actually revealed the amazing properties of time, aspects of its nature that collide headfirst with our common sense. In this enlightening essay, professor Alberto Casas goes from Newton's and Einstein's works, to Chistopher Nolan's movies, through the theory of relativity, quantum physics, and the concept of entropy. This path will make us reflect on extraordinary events, such as the Big Bang, and much more common ones, like a rock tossed into a pond. And it will make us ponder the greatest issue of all: Is the passing of time real? Or is it an illusion?
