All? ENGLISH DESCRIPTION The epic story of a woman who lived through many of the key events of the twentieth century. From the Spanish flu in 1920 through the covid pandemic in 2020, Violeta's life is much more than the story of a century. Violeta came into the world on a stormy day in 1920, the first girl in a household with five rambunctious boys. From the start, her life was marked by extraordinary occurrences as, in the wake of the Great War, the first cases of the Spanish flu appeared in her South American homeland almost at the exact moment of her birth. Thanks to her father's foresight, the family made it through this crisis only to come up against a new one. The Great Depression transformed the elegant urban life Violeta had known until then. Having lost everything, her family withdrew to a wild and remote region of the country, where Violeta came of age and met her first suitor... In a letter to the person she loves most in the world, Violeta describes romantic disappointments and passionate loves, poverty and prosperity, devastating losses and immense joys. Her life was shaped by some of the most momentous events in history: the struggle for women's rights, the rise and fall of dictators, and not one, but two, pandemics. Writing through the eyes of a woman ruled by passion, determination and a sense of humor that sustains her through a long and turbulent life, Isabel Allende brings us another inspiring and deeply moving epic story.
