ENGLISH DESCRIPTION "Juliana tumbles into space, wearing a gauzy white dress that billows out around her. But instead of falling to the ground, just before she hits, she flutters her arms and soars like a butterfly." Ver?nica Balda hosts a popular morning radio show. One day, she is handed a news bulletin that will change her life: A young woman has fallen from the fifth floor of a building in the Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires, the home of a prominent businessman. For Ver?nica, the death is much more than just a tragic accident, for she knows who the woman really is and the twisted and secret history that connects them. As the novel progresses, the reader is presented with different versions of the facts, each of them many faceted and subjective, full of artifices and suppositions. A master of unsettling atmosphere and narrative tension, Claudia Pi?eiro tackles an unsavory reality head on and, through the prism of fiction, lays bare one of the world's oldest, darkest and most intimate secrets: the link between VIP prostitution and the powers that be.
