Christa Henzler og Ingrid Riedel Painting Therapy On the Basis of C.G. Jung's Analytical Psychology

We are often not aware of how each of us is filled with wisdom and potential from within. An important goal of painting therapy is to sense impulses from the unconscious and provide them with an opportunity for visual expression. The result, as richly illustrated in this book, can often provide increased awareness of unrealized resources and creative possibilities. On the basis of 10 impressive series of paintings, Ingrid Riedel and Christa Henzler demonstrate how the colors and forms of a painted picture can bring repressed material to the fore and have diagnostic possibilities, along with prognostic aspects. Like dreams, they are essential sources of rich material for therapeutic work in either individual or group settings. Professor Ingrid Riedel is a Jungian analyst with doctorates in theology and German studies. An honorary professor for the psychology of religion, she maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Constance, and is a lecturer and training analyst at the C.G. Jung Institutes in Zürich and in Stuttgart. She is the author of numerous books and articles in German. Christa Henzler is a psychotherapist and Jungian analyst in private practice in Constance, a trainer for analytic and depth psychology-based psychotherapy and a lecturer, training analyst and supervisor at the C.G. Jung Institutes in Zürich and in Stuttgart.
