Jayaram V The Bhagavadgita Original Commentary

The Bhagavadgita Original Commentary: Unveiling the Gita's Secrets presents a comprehensive translation and original commentary on all 18 chapters of the Bhagavadgita, one of India's most revered scriptures and a timeless guide to spiritual wisdom, ethical action, devotion, self-knowledge, and liberation. Written by Jayaram V, a longtime student and interpreter of Hindu scriptures, this work approaches the Gita as both an Upanishadic text and a practical scripture of Yoga and Dharma. Rather than limiting the interpretation to a single sectarian, philosophical, or devotional tradition, the commentary explores the Gita from a broad and inclusive perspective. It explains the dialogue between Lord Krishna and Arjuna as a universal teaching for all who struggle with doubt, sorrow, duty, desire, attachment, and the search for meaning. Beginning with Arjuna's moral crisis on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, the book shows how suffering and confusion can become the starting point of spiritual awakening. Lord Krishna's teaching then unfolds as a path of wisdom and disciplined action: understanding the eternal Self, performing one's duties without attachment to results, cultivating equanimity, surrendering ego and desire, and living with devotion to the Supreme Being who dwells in all. The commentary gives special attention to key teachings such as karma yoga, jnana yoga, bhakti yoga, renunciation, self-control, the gunas, divine and demonic qualities, the nature of Prakriti and Purusha, the vision of the universal form, and the final teaching of surrender. Each verse is presented with translation, word meanings, and detailed explanation, making the scripture accessible to readers who may be new to Hindu philosophy while also offering depth for serious students. Jayaram V also clarifies important Sanskrit terms, cultural references, symbolism, and philosophical concepts so that modern readers can understand the Bhagavadgita in its historical, spiritual, and practical dimensions. The work emphasizes that the Gita is not merely a scripture of war or renunciation, but a guide to living responsibly, discerning wisely, acting selflessly, and recognizing the divine presence within oneself and the world. This volume is intended for seekers, students of Hinduism, practitioners of yoga and spirituality, and readers interested in Indian philosophy, sacred texts, and the perennial questions of life, duty, suffering, freedom, and God. It invites readers to approach the Bhagavadgita not only as a sacred dialogue of the past, but as a living source of guidance for inner transformation, peace, and liberation.
