Nellie Bly Ten Days in A Mad-House

Step into the daring and groundbreaking world of Nellie Bly, the trailblazing journalist who redefined investigative reporting. In 10 Days in a Mad-house, Bly takes readers on a gripping and harrowing journey through the corridors of Blackwell's Island Asylum, where she went undercover to expose the inhumane conditions and systemic abuse inflicted upon society's most vulnerable. With courage and compassion, Bly immerses herself in the harsh realities faced by women declared "insane"-often for reasons as trivial as poverty or defiance of societal norms. Her vivid, unflinching narrative sheds light on the mistreatment of mental health patients and ignites a call for reform that resonates to this day. Part memoir, part exposé, and entirely riveting, Bly exposes the abuses of psychiatry during this period and the suffering of its victims. 2024 Reprint of the 1887 edition.
