Michel Bussi Lying in Wait

From the author of Nothing Can Erase You comes a twisty, emotional thriller about the essence of love, the plurality of life, and the ferocity of motherhood. Beleaguered Captain Katel Marelle hopes for an open-and-shut case while investigating a death in the rugged French Ardennes. But an apparent suicide turns vastly more complicated when three IDs are pulled from the glove box of the deceased’s car. Renaud Duval, Pierre Rousseau, Hans Bernard—three men with the same face but different birthplaces. Marelle has her work cut out for her, figuring out not only how the man died but who he really was. After questioning Duval’s widow and Rousseau’s and Bernard’s lovers, it’s clear the three women are equally in the dark. Certain only that he loved them all, the young amours join Marelle’s search for their beloved, piecing together a trail from papers he left behind. But they aren’t the only ones looking. And as danger closes in, it’s only a matter of time before their hopes of finding the truth go up in flames.
