L. M. Montgomery Anne of Green Gables

This treasured story chronicles the journey of a little red-headed orphan, Anne Shirley, as she struggles to settle into her new life on Prince Edward Island. Hot-headed, strong-willed, and armed with a loose tongue, Anne Shirley is just eleven years old when she is mistakenly sent to the Cuthberts' farm at Green Gables. The ageing siblings, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, could not be more shocked when the fiery-haired Anne turns up in place of the boy they requested. Deciding to give the orphan a chance, they agree to let her stay so long as she helps with the farmwork. Anne soon finds herself running into trouble. She takes the peaceful Avonlea community by storm, disturbing the steady rhythm of the villagers' life. Stubborn and keen to make a name for herself, Anne begins to make lifelong friends, and lifelong rivals, in this much-loved classic. Read & Co.
