Kaffe Fassett's Quilts in London

The beloved quilting expert Kaffe Fassett has chosen London's bustling, colorful, and funky Camden Lock as the inspiration for his gorgeous new collection of 21 quilts. The funky atmosphere and Pop Art murals of Camden Lock Market brilliantly reflect the quirkiness of Kaffe's unique combinations of fabric print and color in his quilts. In addition to beautiful and inspiring photographs, the book contains clear quilt making instructions and full-color diagrams plus a know-how section of basic patchwork and quilt-making information. The master colorist and bestselling fabric designer shows how a selection of seven popular patchwork blocks can be transformed using different choices of color palette. A main quilt in each group of blocks is reworked in two very different color themes using both the most recent and classic fabric designs. The deep jewel tones of Kaffe's Bright Bordered Diamonds and Cool Bordered Diamonds quilts are enhanced by the bold street art found around the neighborhood. Kaffe's Rich Dark Medallion quilt juxtaposes bright pops of floral against geometric dark shapes, brilliantly set against the backdrop of shiny tiles and a watchful tiger. The stunning Hot Economy quilt feels perfectly at home draped over rustic pallets overlooking a corner of the marketpace, while his geometric Stripes and Triangles cushions beckon the reader to get cozy on a bench and do some people watching on a sunny afternoon in London. Kaffe Fassett has dedicated the last 50 years of his life to the world of knitting, needlepoint and patchwork, promoting these crafts through his own work and encouraging others to find their own creativity. In addition to creating a number of popular books, he also tours internationally, giving workshops and lectures.
