Harper L. Woods The Heir and the Spare

Once, I’d spent my life in the tunnels beneath the mountains. As one of the infants taken from Alfheimr, I spent twelve lifetimes hidden away in the tunnels of the Resistance with a Lunar Witch to watch over me. I knew the truth of my existence and when the Veil fell, my discovery became inevitable. Then, the Fae had come to bring me home to the land of Faerie. When the God of the Dead brought his human mate back to the tunnels after revealing the truth of his identity, he did so with the intent to return me to Mab. The Queen of Air and Darkness has waited centuries to find me on the other side of the Veil of Flesh and Bone, and she had sent her favorite weapon to do it. But I never expected to love Estrella the way I did, to feel the sisterly bond between us as if it had never been interrupted in our lifetimes apart. Now, they’ve bound me to a man I never asked for—a husband I didn’t want. Mab sees love as a weakness, and uses my bond with Estrella to manipulate me into a betrothal I never desired. I see this marriage as a cage, as a means of control that goes against everything within me. But when Mab kills the Summer King and sends Estrella into Tartarus, Etan leaves me no choice but to flee Tar Mesa and journey to the Summer Court to take the throne at his side. No matter what I leave behind.
