Diana West American Betrayal

In American Betrayal, Diana West digs into our modern political landscape, dominated by President Barack Obama, to ask how did America turn its back on its basic beliefs and ignore the Socialist movement underway long before the 2012 election. West's surprising answer takes the form of an investigative history that explores the massive, Moscow - directed penetration of U.S. society. She looks at those who concealed it - Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower - those who did the penetrating - Hiss, Currie, Silvermaster, Hopkins, Adler, and hundreds more; and the forgotten heroes who exposed it -Lyons, Bullitt, Dies, Chambers, Bentley, Jordan, Epstein, and even McCarthy. West finds that even before WWII, the U.S. made a deal-with-the-devil, accepting Big Lie after Big Lie from the Soviet Union, concealing them in order to take the stage as the post-war superpower, and losing our values in the process. The sorry story continues today with Americans acquiescing to pro-Islamic radicalism while leading Republicans are fearful of speaking out against liberal excesses. In American Betrayal, Diana West shakes the historical record and dislodges a shocking number of icons to discover how a nation of adolescents became so cowardly that we cannot defend our most cherished values.
