Don Breithaupt Rhythm of My Heart

Rhythm of My Heart is the definitive account of one of music's great careers. Marc Jordan's songs have been recorded by Rod Stewart, Bonnie Raitt, Diana Ross, Joe Cocker, Cher, Bette Midler, Natalie Cole, Chicago, Kenny Loggins, Kim Carnes, Shawn Colvin, and many other internationally known recording artists, and Jordan's own recordings (including his hits "Marina Del Rey" and "Survival") are masterworks of songcraft. Rhythm of My Heart tells the story of a Brooklyn-born Canadian's journey from dyslexic schoolchild to sought-after hitmaker; it's also a guided tour through a tumultuous half-century of popular music. Including exclusive interviews with acclaimed musicians and industry insiders, it shines new light on an uncompromising, singular artist. "Marc Jordan is a wonderful songwriter, and it's high time someone told his story. He has such great imagery, such raw emotion. 'Rhythm of My Heart' was just the kind of song I was looking for in the early nineties-the kind I sing best." -Rod Stewart "Marc Jordan has always been about uncompromising quality. Every musical encounter I've had with him has been amazing. He has a way of not doing the obvious, and that's what makes a great songwriter: you say it or play it differently than everybody else. It's what we all strive for." -David Foster "Marc Jordan has always exemplified the highest level of songwriting and soulful singing. He has consistently delivered music with depth and gravitas." -Bruce Hornsby
