Sigmund Karterud Mentalizing and Group Analysis

Mentalizing and Group Analysis presents a synthesis of group analysis and Mentalization-Based Group Therapy (MBT-G). Sigmund Karterud brings together writing from the course of a career in group analysis and mentalization, beginning with a new introduction outlining the compelling theoretical case for hybrid versions of group analysis and MBT-G. The book covers key themes and ideas, including the group self, authority and leadership and personality, and presents an example of a high-quality mentalization-based group therapy session. Karterud’s work provides a route forward for the evolution of theory and practice of group analysis. Mentalizing and Group Analysis will be of great interest to group psychotherapists and group analysts in practice and in training.
