Erica Jong Fear of Flying

She wants men. She wants solitude. Most of all, Isadora Wing wants a life that belongs to her. The modern classic that changed the way we thought about sex. Compulsive daydreamer Isadora Wing has come to a crossroads. Five years into marriage, she finds herself pulled equally towards erotic freedom and the privacy of being alone. At a work conference in Vienna, she ditches her second husband and decides to cut and run, travelling across Europe in search of the perfect no-strings-attached tryst. A fear of flying is not going to stop her. Witty, fearless and exuberant, Fear of Flying remains as sensational today as when it was first published. Erica Jong’s novel is a feminist modern classic about female desire, marriage, fantasy and self-discovery, following a woman trying to understand freedom on her own terms. For readers interested in feminist classics, bold literary fiction and novels about women’s interior lives, Isadora Wing remains an unforgettable voice.
