Sonny Jane Wise The Neurodivergent Friendly Workbook of DBT Skills

This is not your traditional DBT workbook. With over 100,000 copies sold worldwide, the second edition of The Neurodivergent Friendly Workbook of DBT Skills is finally here and reimagines DBT skills including interpersonal effectiveness through a neurodiversity affirming lens. Neurodivergent distress isn't just emotional distress. Many of us experience sensory overload, meltdowns, demand avoidance and nervous system overwhelm, as a result of living in a world that isn't designed for our differences. This workbook acknowledges that reality. Because traditional DBT resources aren't neurodivergent friendly, this workbook reimagines DBT skills and provides neurodiversity affirming worksheets, information and prompts on sensory regulation, meltdown support, burnout, understanding our capacity, self-advocacy, stimming, special interests, communication needs, accessible mindfulness and more. Written by an Autistic ADHDer, this workbook guides you through neurodivergent friendly DBT skills adapted to work with your mind and differences, not against them. Instead of rigid rules, compliance-based strategies or skills that reinforce neuronormativity, you'll find practical and compassionate tools designed to support neurodivergent people across six different areas: Everyday Well-beingMindfulnessDistress ToleranceEmotional RegulationSensory NeedsInterpersonal Effectiveness Each section is colour-coordinated to stay visually engaging with a wide variety of tools, worksheets, and reflections throughout.
