Emma Heaphy Everlasting Motherhood

The hand holding you need as you face the depths of your continued early motherhood with an expanding family and the bittersweet journey that is your last baby. Emma Heaphy's fourth book of poetry and prose on early motherhood is finally here. Everlasting Motherhood is the missing piece of the popular poetry collection for mothers. Her earlier books, Dear Motherhood, Mother On and Motherhood to Me, take you through new motherhood, subsequent pregnancy and postpartum journeys and the ups and downs of life as a young family in the early years. This book picks up where they left off, and dives deep into the last baby feels with her fourth baby and the realisations that come with her bigger-still-little-ones. Everlasting Motherhood will make you really feel. You will cry regularly. You will nod often. You will feel held in the words of comfort and validation. It's what every mother needs when saying goodbye to a chapter so close to her heart. This book is ready for you, when you are ready. And when you are, take your time with it. With both tenderness and deep reverence, Emma's poetry cradles the complexity of mothering: the ache, the awe, the contractions, the (un)becoming, the (re)making, the love. Her words erupt waves of recognition, stirring what lives unspoken beneath the surface of motherhood. A powerful witnessing of how the experience of mothering unsettles, remakes, and redefines us - and what it means to traverse the transitions and tender terrain of everlasting motherhood. - Dr Sophie Brock, Motherhood Studies Sociologist Emma makes both her poetry and outlook on motherhood feel easy to understand, despite their complexity. Through simple language and a string of seemingly ordinary moments and experiences, she conveys a depth and duality of feeling that resonates with women navigating any unique strain or stage of motherhood. Everlasting Motherhood reminds us that these feelings and experiences connect us to a collective and stay with us forever. - Neha Ruch, USA TODAY Bestselling Author of THE POWER PAUSE
